A nation powered by dragons has succumbed to a deadly plague. Two teenage girls must escape a vengeful military general on a quest to find the cure.

Bryn McEachairn and Aerin Pollock are best friends, two teenage girls living in the nation of Pyrris— a fantastical nation powered by the magic of dragons, used as tools to create modern comforts. But their comfortable lives crumble as a mysterious plague sweeps through the land, killing the dragons and sending Pyrris into chaos.

Desperate to save the dragons and to prove themselves, they set out to search for a cure, taking along Bryn’s dragon, Tricky. Tricky is an enigma, boasting immunity to the plague and suspected to originate from the ruined nation of Azuenne—the girls’ destination.

However, their adventures do not escape the eye of military General Saoirse Ruadidri, who wants this dragon plague to doom Pyrris to the same fate as Azuenne. And she will not let two self-righteous teenage heroes interrupt her quest for vengeance.
